On February 11, the Stateline 4-H meeting was called to order at 7:11 pm. The pledge was led by Brice, the 4-H pledge was led by Sunni. We went through the old business, the Delaware state fair theme for 2015 “Find Your Fun” is something to keep in mind. The state teen Conference was rescheduled. No one attended the Winter Fun day and nobody put in entries for the Photography/Graphic Arts, but Pamela went to the state leader’s forum and she said that it was very good and had some good ideas. For the new business all enrollment and health forms need to be in. On March 15 at one o’clock we will have an Italian dinner. Lilian showed interest in favorite foods. The 4-H Grown Campaign is scholarship money. Some showed interest in the Wood Science Judging Training, and a lot of people showed interest in the spring Archery Shoots. Not many people showed interest in the State Teen Conference and the Clothing and Textiles Showcase. We talked about one of the members experience at a past Junior Leader weekend. We talked about our spring fundraiser, and if we should sell hot dogs at Walmart or Tractor Supply but need more information about Tractor Supply. There is a possibility of selling at Lowes. The meeting was ended at 8:01 and Zane made a motion to end the meeting.

Bridgeville Mustangs – Jenna Anger, Reporter
Bridgeville Mustangs 4-H LogoFinally, the Bridgeville Mustangs were able to hold a meeting.  The winter snow and ice got in the way of our February meeting.  Obviously, we had a lot of things to cover at our March meeting.  We began the meeting with the Watermelon Song lead by Rachel Carey & Mallary Cummings.  C.J. Carroll gave an excellent safety report on pet safety.  The Mustangs had a whopping 18 members participate in the Favorite Foods Contest, Foods Judging, and/or Graphic Arts.  Congrats to Kaitlyn W., Sophia M., Meredith C., Kaleb P., Jenna A., Rachel B., Rachel M., Paige T., Yasmin C., Wesley D., Carley D., Mallory C., Jace G., Holly C., Carter B., Kyle K., Makayla G., and Brooke T.   THE MUSTANGS ROCK!!!    Magic Mustangs and Equinators 2.0 competed in the Horse Bowl Contest on March 7.  Paige, Cheyenne, Alexa, C.J., Tanner, and Jenna did a fantastic job against some tough teams.  Thanks to Ms. Heather and Ms. Melissa for coaching.  Two Mustangs, Brittany Carpenter and Jenna Anger are participating in the 4-H Sussex County Exchange Trip 2015-2016.  They will be hosting a family of 2 sisters from Wisconsin this July and traveling there next summer.    This will be an unforgettable experience.  The focus of the meeting was Public Speaking and having speeches read to show the club how easy it is.  Congrats to Yasmin Cruz, Kyle Kerr, Kaleb Parsons, and Jenna Anger for competing and all bringing home blue ribbons.  Jenna won in her division and will be competing at the Delaware State Fair.  Speaking of the Fair, DO NOT forget to begin preparing and on April 1st entering online entries.  The Cloverbuds had 2 fuzzy visitors at the meeting.  Juliette brought in her bunny rabbits.  They learned how to take care of rabbits, what to feed them, and what great pets they are.  With Easter being around corner, they enjoyed dying eggs and having a game of Pin the Tail on the Bunny.

All of the project groups are ready for spring.  Archery, Outdoor Adventures, and Horticulture are preparing to get outside and start having fun.  Poultry is studying breeds and egg colors. Consumer Bowl has formed teams and is hitting the books.  Horse is preparing for judging at the fair and farm visits.  Health is learning about burns and fire escape plans.  Arts & Crafts and Foods are continuing to have cool projects and yummy food.  We are excited that Mr. Goff and Mr. Webb have signed on as leaders for the Small Engines Project Group.

Lastly, I would like to congratulate my mom, Gina Anger, for being named 2015 Sussex County Salute to Excellence Volunteer of the Year!!  Thank you for all you do for the Mustangs and 4-H.
