Agent Letter: November 2015

fall leaves2Hello 4-H Family,

November brings beautiful fall colors and cooler weather. Daylight savings time ends on November 2, so be sure to turn your clocks back! This month also brings Election Day, Veterans Day, The Great American Smoke Out, and Thanksgiving.

Sussex 4-H was very busy in October with the following events:
• Window Displays – Six Clubs participated in this annual contest
• Paper Clover Fundraiser – 4-H members, friends, and families were encouraged to participate
• Pumpkin Contest/Haunted Trail – Ninety 4-H’ers decorated pumpkins and over 200 attended the event
• Fall Retreat – 27 campers and 10 counselors enjoyed games, a campfire, smores, crafts, and more!

November 4-H events include a Holiday Card Party for Heroes on Friday, November 7 at 6:30 pm, the final fall Archery Shoot on Sunday, November 9 at 2:00 pm at the REC and the Exchange Trip Meeting will be on Monday, November 10 at 6:00 pm.  The Four Little Clovers Dinner Theater will take place on Saturday, November 15 at 6:00 pm. Delaware 4-H will send a delegation of teens to Atlanta, GA to participate in National Club Congress from November 28-December 2. Sussex delegates are:  Colleen Anderson and Nathaniel Vincent.

Please be sure to read all the posts in our newsletter/blog and be sure to mark your calendars with all of the exciting 4-H activities!

I hope you enjoy Thanksgiving with your family and loved ones. Take a few moments to think of all your blessings. We have much to be thankful for!  Looking forward to seeing you at the next 4-H event!

Yours in 4-H,
