Dear 4-H Family,

Happy May!  4-Hers were very busy during the month of April.  A few of our members took part in the first Statewide Clothing Showcase.  Thank you to those who planned and decorated for the event!  Holly Anderson and Shannon Bradley attended National 4-H Conference, met many new people, and had great learning experiences.  Most recently younger members, teens, adult volunteers had a “magical” weekend at Cape Henlopen State Park for our annual Younger Member Weekend.  Look for more information on both of these events in this newsletter.

Thank you to the clubs who submitted a club report this month, please keep them coming!  Be sure to submit your club news to Tammy or myself by the 25th of each month.  Include a fun activity, projects completed, and photos of your club in actions.  We love to see and share what each club is doing!

During May, many holidays will be celebrated:  May Day, Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, and Memorial Day.  Many 4-H events and activities are also planned:  Livestock Tagging, Horticulture & Wildlife Judging Contests, Demonstration Contest, Legislative Day, Farm Tours, Archery Shoot, Sussex 4-H Horse Show, and PQA Testing.

Hopefully the sunshine and warmer temperatures are here to stay!  I encourage everyone to go outside and enjoy healthy activities such as biking, walking, hiking, or just having a picnic in your backyard or a local park.  Take time out of your busy schedules to spend with the ones you love most!

Yours in 4-H,
Jill Jackson
