Delaware DigiGirlz – March 5, 2014

Together with the Delaware Department of Education and the Delaware Center for Educational Technology, it is my pleasure to invite you to Delaware’s fourth annual DigiGirlz Day on Wednesday, March 5, at the New Castle campus of Wilmington University. This exciting program for local girls in the 8th and 9th grades will highlight career opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).

We know that STEM is important for global competiveness. The purpose of the DigiGirlz program is to address the declining enrollment of young women entering the STEM fields. Through this program,we will engage young women in lively discussions about technology, dispel the many myths about a STEM education, and offer hands-on “fun” activities.

This program is offered through a unique partnership between Microsoft Corporation, the Department of Education, the Delaware Center for Educational Technology and the Delaware Department of Technology and Information.
