Hello 4-H Family,

Fall has finally arrived and brought many 4-H activities!  October 4-H Events include:  Fall into 4-H Event, National 4-H Week, Window Display Contest, Archery Shoot, Pumpkin Contest & Haunted Trail, and the Fall Retreat.  Please be sure to read all the posts on the Blog and be sure to mark your calendars with all of the exciting 4-H activities!

STARS OF 4-H was the theme for the Achievement Event held on September 28.  Over 150 people enjoyed the covered dish dinner and awards presentations.  The 4-H sky was shining brighter with each award given.  Mary Argo, former 4-H Agent, was presented with the Joy Sparks Spirit of 4-H Award.  After a standing ovation from the audience and the presentation, Mary shared many words of thanks and encouragement.  Sussex 2013 National  4-H Club Congress delegates are:  Holly Anderson, Shannon Bradley, Andy Duvall, Jonah Vincent, and Dustin Waller.  Congratulations to all the award recipients.  More details about the program can be found further in the Blog.  Please take time to check out the photos from the event on our Flickr page (http://www.flickr.com/photos/sussexcounty4h/).

Fall is a time of to reflect on the past and look forward to the future!  I encourage all Members, Leaders, and Volunteers to try new things both inside and outside of 4-H.  Participate in new events, make new friends, volunteer, market 4-H, and invite a friend to become a 4-H member.

You never know how much you will like something until you try it!
