Lord Baltimore Helping Hands – Grace Schifano, Reporter
At our first meeting on September 14, 2025, we introduced two new members (Alice and Paige) and then past members shared their experiences at Day Camp and the State Fair. We then talked about the upcoming events such as the Pumpkin Contest and the Animal Science Day. Ruby also showed us lots of different ways to paint or decorate a pumpkin for the Pumpkin Contest. Then we brainstormed ideas for the window display. Then we looked in the backyard for something to build out of Legos. Next, Alice led a game called Clumps, and Grace led Ships and Sailors. Afterwards, we made our craft, which was a suncatcher, by cutting a circle, coloring it and then soaking baby oil on it and letting it dry in the sun. To finish the meeting, we had a healthy snack of apples with honey, maple sugar or cinnamon and sugar, and peanut butter along with pretzels. We will meet in a couple weeks to finish our window display.
Dublin Hill 4-H Club – Lucas Marquez, Reporter
Dublin Hill started their new 4-H year off with their first business meeting on September 10th. Cloverbuds and traditional 4-Her’s gathered at the Allen’s residence to learn about upcoming 4-H events. Members chose dates to start planning and building a window display focused on the theme “find your spark”. Dates were also selected for Adopt-a-Highway cleanup and decorating at Merry Lane. Donations of school supplies, toys and clothing were also collected for Operation Christmas Child. After the meeting was over, 4-Her’s and family members enjoyed walking tacos and swimming. Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 8th at the Bridgeville Fire Hall at 7pm.
Hollymount 4-H Club – Cody Kuhlman, Reporter
Our first 4-H meeting was September 11, 2025. We started with learning songs and teaching new members. Our business part was next. Caroline led the American pledge, and Evelyn led the 4-H pledge. Mrs. West announced our new officers and introduced them. We went over the old business and had members discuss what they did over the summer. We discussed our accomplishments from the Delaware State Fair. Next, we went on to the many upcoming events 4-H has to offer in the coming months. One of the important things is to make sure you get re-enrolled or registered so you can compete in the evens. We ended our meeting with eight stations around the room. The club officers came up with these stations to show new members some of the activities 4-H has to offer. As they went around the room, they got the chance to ask questions or learn more about the topic. Our next meeting is scheduled for October 9,2025.
