Fall Retreat:
14 campers set up camp at Redden Lodge immediately following the Pumpkin Contest. The Great Pumpkin, Carter Bradley, greeted campers and icebreaker games began! Bats, Pumpkins, Cats and Ghosts groups learned teamwork and had fun playing new games. After reviewing camp rules, the groups enjoyed the making s’mores and campfire activities.  The group then prepared for lights out.  On Sunday, everyone was ready for the delicious breakfast. Group leaders reviewed activities of the day and classes began. The campers made an Indian Corn craft and learned about wildlife creatures and habitats.  The group also went on a short hike before their parents arrived!  The members had a weekend of 4‐H fun, fellowship and new friends! Special thanks to the wonderful counselors and chaperones for volunteering their time to provide this annual 4‐H event which is sponsored by the Sussex Leaders Association. Event Chairpersons/Chaperones: Gina Anger and Melissa Mitchell; Counselors:  Carter Bradley, Juliette Anger, Cole Carpenter, Logan Jackson, Demetreus Moutzalias, Talia Moutzalias, Rachel O’Day, Abby VanVorst, and Declan West.  Chaperones: Kathy DiSabatino, Dave Mitchell, Shawn Mitchell, and Jill Jackson.

Links to Leadership:
Another event that took place at Redden Lodge was Links to Leadership.  This Links sponsored event was held Friday night through Saturday at noon.  This event was for 4-H members ages 11-14.  Fifteen teens spent Friday evening participating in icebreakers and teambuilding activities.  Saturday morning, the group enjoyed breakfast and workshops.  The first workshop was all about Communication.  Teens learned about active listening and a variety of ways to communicate effectively.  The second workshop was STEAM based.  Our new 4-H Science Educator, Twila Parish-Short, provided a very fun and interactive workshop about reusable energy sources and energy conservation.  The final workshop was a homemade basket made from a paper bag that can be entered as a recycled craft in the State Fair.  Event Chaperones:  Amy West, Kathy DiSabatino, Stan Bradley, Kaleb Scott and Jill Jackson.

Teen Helpers:  Carter Bradley, Kyle Kerr, Ainsley West and Declan West
