Dear 4-H Families,
Fall has finally arrived and brought many 4-H activities! October 4-H Events include: National 4-H Week, Window Display Contest, Officer Workshops, Links to Leadership, Pumpkin Contest and Fall Retreat!
“Oh my Gourd, We Love 4-H” was the theme for the Achievement Event held on September 23. Amy West was presented with the Joy Sparks Spirit of 4-H Award. The Sussex 4-H 2023 National 4-H Club Congress delegates are Carter Bradley, Bailey Fletcher, Kyle Kerr and Ainsley West. Carter Bradley also received the Level 6 Diamond Clover Award for his service project serving the homeless in Sussex County. Sussex 4-H presented the 4-H Sprit Award to six very deserving individuals: Caydance Means, Rachel O’Day, Declan West, Demetreus Moutzalias, Austin Quackenbush and Gina Anger. Congratulations to all the award recipients! More details about the program can be found further in the newsletter.
Please be sure to read all the posts in the newsletter and mark your calendars with all of the exciting 4-H activities!
Leaders – Please forward all emails from the 4-H Office to your club members. With the 4-H year just starting, we do not have all contact information and do not want any members missing out on opportunities!
Fall is a time of to reflect on the past and look forward to the future! I encourage all members, leaders, and volunteers to try new things both inside and outside of 4-H. Participate in new events, make new friends, volunteer and invite a friend to become a 4-H member. You never know how much you will like something until you try it!
Looking forward to seeing you at the next 4-H event!
Yours in 4-H,
Jill Jackson
