Lord Baltimore Helping Hands – Cassidy White, Reporter
Lord Baltimore Helping Hand’s first meeting of the year was on September 19, 2021. The meeting began with going through the American and 4-H pledges. Then, we discussed the old and new business like the State Fair and Safe Kids Day. Afterward, we decided who our officers would be. Then, we did the paperwork and started our club project book on dogs. Next, we began the window display for the Selbyville Library and our September Meal on Wheels crafts. We also went over the Pumpkin Contest and decided what activity we wanted to contribute. Overall, the meeting was productive and our next one will be on October 10, 2021.

We had our first club meeting for the new 4-H year on September 22, 2021 at Providence Church in Georgetown. Congratulations to our new club officers for 2021-22: President-Ashlyn Elliott; Vice President-Brooke Elliott; Treasurer-Wyatt Warner; Secretary-Grace Dorey and Ella Locklear; Club Reporter-Tori Millman; Health/Safety Chairs-Kaylee & Mamie Charest. In addition to officer elections, members discussed the “Holidays of Hope” community service projects that we have planned for the year. Groups we will be helping this year include domestic violence shelters, homeless shelters, foster kids, veterans’ home, Beebe Tunnell Cancer Center staff and South Coastal Cancer Center staff, as well as local first responders. We also participate in Adopt-A-Highway each year, and have a clean-up scheduled for Saturday, October 2. For our club activity, we learned how to safely carve pumpkins and did a team building skit exercise and question/answer activity. Our members are looking forward to a productive 4-H year!

Our club met at the American Legion in Seaford. Our Health Advisors, Ivy and Janet, led us in a game of Heads up 7 up and provided us with a prepackaged snack of popcorn and water to take home.
Our old business was about the State fair we had members that did demonstrations, judging, and goat showing. We are still taking turns watering the flowers in the flower boxes we made at Lofland Nursing Home.
Under new business we set a date to go to Longwood Gardens in October. We had four members go to the Jr. Leaders meeting. Discussed the Achievement event and Pumpkin contest. We had election of officers and they will be installed at the October meeting.
We made a fun craft of decorating a picture frame with ribbon and flowers.
