Agent Letter: May 2021

Dear 4-H Families,

Happy May! During this month, many holidays will be celebrated:  May Day, Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, and Memorial Day.  Many 4-H events and activities are also planned:  Livestock Tagging, Sussex 4-H Links Spring Fair, Virtual Legislative Workshops and more!

It was so nice to have a variety of in-person events in April!  Congratulations to all members who took part in the County Demonstration Contest as well as the Foods, Photography and Wood Science Judging.  Results from these events are posted in this newsletter.  Teen 4-H leaders also had the chance to provide a Younger Member Day to members 8-12 years old.  The theme was Dazzling Decades and everyone seemed to have a great time just being together and taking part in traditional 4-H activities!

Be sure to submit your club news to Tammy or myself by the 25th of each month.  Include a fun activity, projects completed, and photos of your club in actions.  We love to see and share what each club is doing virtually or in person!

Hopefully the sunshine and warmer temperatures will decide to stick around!  I encourage everyone to go outside and enjoy healthy activities such as biking, walking, hiking, or just having a picnic in your backyard or a local park.  Take time out of your schedules to spend with the ones you love most!

Yours in 4-H,
Jill Jackson
