Agent Letter: October 2020

Dear Sussex 4-H Families,

Fall has finally arrived and brought many 4-H activities!  October 4-H Events include:  Virtual Links Leadership Weekend, National 4-H Week, Pumpkin Contest, World Food Day and STEM Events.

“Zoom into the Future with 4-H” was the theme for the Virtual Achievement Event held on September 26.  The event was a hit!  Jodie Gravenor, Cypress Heart & Hands Leader, was presented with the Joy Sparks Spirit of 4-H Award.  4-H members received a variety of project awards and scholarships.  Sussex 4-H also presented the 4-H Spirit Award to six very deserving individuals:  Carter Bradley, Johhny Wilkerson, Ashlyn Elliott, Ainsley West, Brooklyn Bailey and Amy West.  Congratulations to all the award recipients! More details about the program can be found further in the newsletter.

A special congratulations to our 4-H Staff Assistant Jackie Arpie!  She married Travis Waller in September.  This couple met as Sussex 4-H members over 10 years ago.  We wish them both a lifetime of love and happiness!

Please be sure to read all the posts in the newsletter and be sure to mark your calendars with all of the exciting 4-H activities!

Leaders – Please be sure to forward all emails from the 4-H Office to your club members.  With the    4-H year just starting, we do not have all contact information and do not want any members missing out on opportunities!

Fall is a time of to reflect on the past and look forward to the future!  I encourage all members, leaders, and volunteers to try new things both inside and outside of 4-H.  Participate in new events, make new friends, volunteer, market 4-H, and invite a friend to become a 4-H member.  You never know how much you will like something until you try it!

Looking forward to seeing you at the next 4-H event!

Yours in 4-H,
Jill Jackson
