Mark your calendar for this year’s Coastal Cleanup September 12, 2020
You can help make a difference in Delaware by joining volunteers of all ages at the annual Delaware Coastal Cleanup, which will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, September 12, 2020.  In case of severe weather, the rain date will be the following Saturday, September 19.

For the 2020 event, precautions will be taken to ensure the health and safety of cleanup participants, who will spread out across 40 to 50 locations throughout the state, working outside and generally in groups no bigger than 10 to 15. Planning for this year’s event covers a wide range of contingencies, including possible cancellation, with decisions to be based on the most current coronavirus conditions.

Sponsored by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, the cleanup spans the First State’s 97-mile eastern coastline and includes river and ocean shorelines as well as wetland and watershed areas. Volunteers are strongly encouraged to pre-register to help ensure that each site has enough supplies.
• Required parental consent form (for participants under the age of 18)

Diamond Clover Award – 2020-2021 Intent Forms DUE November 25, 2020
Delaware 4-H members are eligible to participate in the Diamond Clover Award program. Delaware 4-H adopted the Diamond Clover Award in 2011 from a program used in Maryland and Nebraska. This award will be the highest level of recognition that a Delaware 4-H member can achieve. It is similar to the Boy Scout Eagle Award or the Girl Scout Gold Award. The Diamond Clover Award consists of six levels, each steadily advancing in intensity and achievement over the last. It is intended to take a 4-H member six years to complete. The nice thing about this award is that many 4-H members are already doing the work, so all you need to do is fill out the forms and submit them. For other 4-H members, this award can provide you with a long-term challenge for your 4-H career. Either way, when you have finished the process you have completed an amazing journey that will benefit you forever. To find out more, visit the Diamond Clover site on the State 4-H webpage.
