Updated list of Virtual/Postponed/Cancelled events due to the Health Crisis
ALL 4-H club, county and statewide events have now been postponed or will be offered virtually until July 31. Club Leaders are working on alternative ways for you to meet for your monthly meetings.
Below are a few updates and resources that you may find helpful. This date now affects the following:
- Club meetings and events from now until the end of July
- County Archery Shoots with Dr. Campbell at the REC (May 17 & May 30) – Cancelled
- May and June Monthly Meetings at Carvel (Exchange, Leaders and Jr. Council will be by ZOOM). No county meetings in July as usual
- Exchange Trip – Postponed until Summer 2021.
- County Summer Day Camps – We are currently in the process of planning virtual day camps that youth can attend during the summer. More information and registration for these events will be out later in May. All camps will be free of charge!
- State Camp and Environmental Camp – We are exploring all potential options related to these camps. If options are determined, this information will be shared when it is available.
- County Demonstration Contest – A virtual Demonstration Contest will be held in June for those that had previously registered for the March event. More information will be out in the coming weeks on how and when these will take place. Please continue practicing/planning for your demonstration!
- Judging Contests – These are postponed until August when we can hopefully to the contests in person.
- State Fair – The following message has been shared from Mr. Crouse about Fair 4-H entries:
- As decisions are made and research is completed, we will be providing answers to the handling of 4-H exhibits to all members. We encourage members to continue to make their entries through the state fair online system.
- We are currently working with the Fair to discuss a virtual exhibit environment. This is a process that many other 4-H states are exploring with their 4-H fairs also through a system that is currently being developed. In Delaware, this process is currently used each year with success in the Open Class with photography exhibits. The fair feels it will also be able to be used for our 4-H exhibits and is currently doing research of this process.
- We are also exploring the possibility of “live” exhibits to be brought to the fair, but this decision may not be possible or approved with the current restrictions in place. However, if state restrictions change prior to the state fair, we will certainly explore this option to determine if this can be the plan followed in regards to 4-H exhibits in the 4-H building.
