East Coast Group – Horse Bowl Interest for the 2020 Contest
Who is interested in joining the East Coast Horse Team and participating in the Horse Bowl this year? Horse Bowl is a trivia based competition for youth ages 8-19. The youth are divided into age categories and then placed on teams. The teams are divided by ages (8-10yr), (11-13yr), and (14-19yr). It usually takes place on the Second Saturday of March in Kent County. Most teams will start practicing in November and then practice weekly starting in January.  The East Coast Horse team is comprised of members from across the county who don’t have horse bowl teams in their home club.

If you would like to be on an East Coast Horse team this year, please send your name, age, email address, and phone number to Jodie Gravenor. We would like to get all information of interested youth and then set up a date for getting our teams together. If you would like any other information, please do not hesitate to ask. Contact: Jodie Gravenor, caregiver7296@mchsi.com  or 302-236-5541.

Diamond Clover Award – 2019-2020 Intent Forms DUE November 27, 2019
Delaware 4-H members are eligible to participate in the Diamond Clover Award program. Delaware 4-H adopted the Diamond Clover Award in 2011 from a program used in Maryland and Nebraska. This award will be the highest level of recognition that a Delaware 4-H member can achieve. It is similar to the Boy Scout Eagle Award or the Girl Scout Gold Award. The Diamond Clover Award consists of six levels, each steadily advancing in intensity and achievement over the last. It is intended to take a 4-H member six years to complete. The nice thing about this award is that many 4-H members are already doing the work, so all you need to do is fill out the forms and submit them. For other 4-H members, this award can provide you with a long-term challenge for your 4-H career. Either way, when you have finished the process you have completed an amazing journey that will benefit you forever. To find out more, visit the Diamond Clover site on the State 4-H webpage under “Scholarships and Awards.”

Scholarship Opportunity
The Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement is giving away ten scholarships, each worth $10,000 to local students planning to pursue a career in agriculture.
That’s right – we’re giving away $100,000 directly to ag students in our community!
Our scholarship program is open to all high school seniors or currently enrolled college students residing in MidAtlantic Farm Credit’s territory who are planning to work in the agriculture industry.
This could mean you’re planning to be a farmer, food scientist, veterinarian, ag educator, engineer, or even a Farm Credit employee!
The deadline to submit your application is Friday, January 10, 2020.
More information and the application can be found online:  https://fcfoundationforag.org/
