On September 12, the Dublin Hill 4-H Club had their kick off pool party. We had 25 members and discussed plans to start club archery and air rifle. We are also planning more community service events this year. Our first one is making care packages for 2 deployed alumni of the club who are also the dad and uncle of a Cloverbud member. These boxes will be mailed next month, hopefully to reach them by Veterans Day. Everyone was excited about the upcoming Pumpkin Contest and Coastal Cleanup. It is going to be a great year!

Hollymount – Gia Joella, Reporter
We began our first meeting of the 2019-2020 year with our usual singing and dancing. Soon after we finished that, we began our business meeting. We were first introduced to our newest members. There were so many new faces! I hope they enjoy our meetings and activities. We were also given information about the clubs we can participate in and some presentations we will be given this year. Once our business meeting concluded, we took a video of all of our members for our Window Display. We then did a fun ice breaker activity where a member stated one of their interests and was introduced to other members that shared it! After this ended, two activities began. While most of the members discussed the Window Display, others were taken to a quieter section one at a time to film individual videos for the Window Display. To conclude our meeting, Sundene Lodge brought us a healthy snack of apples. This was a very fun introductory meeting, and it was great to meet so many new members!

Bridgeville Mustangs – Carlyn DeFord, Reporter
The Bridgeville Mustangs had their first meeting of the 2019-2020 4-H year on September 12. We had an amazing turn out, many old familiar friends and a lot of new faces too! We kicked off our 4-H year with our 2018-2019 officers at the table, giving their final reports and doing their duties one last time. Then we had our 2019-2020 officers give their acceptance speeches! It was good for everyone to step out of their comfort zones and address the club with a few facts about themselves. We can’t wait for the upcoming 4-H year!

Cypress Heart and Hands September report – By: Jaxson Wilkerson
We had our 1st 4-H meeting of the year. We have several new members joining our club. We started our night off by playing a ice breaker game. After that we played duck, duck goose. Once the fun games were finished we started our meeting. We discussed what everyone did over the summer. Like who went to State Camp or who put entries into the fair, and our end of year party. We then talked about new business. About all the cool stuff coming up like all different clubs Steam, Dairy and Tech clubs or like the achievement dinner at the end of the month. After we discussed all the new business and there was a-lot we adjourned our meeting. We then all enjoyed a healthy snack and water. Have a good month & talk to you next time.

Lord Baltimore – Cassidy White, Reporter
Lord Baltimore Helping Hands 4-H club had its first meeting of the year on September 15, 2019. The meeting started with everyone introducing themselves because we had 5 new members join us. Plus, we taught them the pledges. We then went over the previous and following events such as the state fair or pumpkin contest. Also, throughout the meeting, we were participating in the fourth H challenge by serving water and oranges at the meeting. Then, the club officer positions were taken. Afterward, we all went outside to play two games. The first one was when we through a green and white beach ball. If your thumb touches the green part, you have to answer a question from one list, if it lands on white you answer a question from a different list. The next game was when we had two dices, one with an exercise and the other with a number. Each person would role each dice and do that amount of exercise. We did this so everyone had about three turns. This is how the first meeting of the 2019-20 year worked for Lord Baltimore Helping Hands.

The Harbor Lights 4-H club met on September 16, 2019 at Old Paths Church of Christ. The meeting was called to order by our President, Destiny Carmona. The pledges were led by Dakota Carmona and Evelyn Reilly. The Secretary’s report was read by our Secretary, Diamond Carmona. She also led roll call, which was answered by, “What is your favorite color?”  Then, introduced and welcomed our newest member, Johnny Lester. This was his first 4-H meeting. We discussed our plans to put on a Christmas play during the holiday season. This will be this year’s fundraiser for our club. After this, the meeting was adjourned and we moved on to this year’s election. Most of our officers were re-elected for a second year, but we do have a few new officers. Kate Cunningham was elected as club photographer, Judah Williams was elected as our club activity organizer and director and I, Zoe Cunningham am the new club reporter. After this, we did some fun activities to help us with our improvisation and acting skills. Then we had a healthy and delicious snack to close out the first Harbor Lights 4-H meeting. We also took a club photo, because we all wore purple to support Drug Free Awareness. Our club was very excited for this year’s 4-H meetings to start up and our first was a success 🙂
