Seaford Blue Jays – Ivy Genshaw, Reporter
The Seaford Blue Jays have had a busy spring and are excited about summer. Our last meeting at the Seaford library was a celebration for Alyssa Thawley’s graduation. She brought in a guest speaker to teach our club about bees and honey production.
In June the Shultie’s hosted a pizza pool party. During that gathering we discussed participating in the Acts Manor House parade and Fourth of July festivities. We also talked about our fundraiser at the antique car show at the library. We sold water and baked goods and decided we want to do this activity again next year. Our club raised money and 4-H awareness at the Texas Roadhouse in Seaford by distributing coupons in which our club received a percentage of the customer’s meal price.
Recently we met at Hannah Henderson’s home where she led a craft day. We made different articles to submit in the State Fair. She is also holding another craft day in early July. At this event we enjoyed good and fellowship. Our club is looking forward to riding on the State Fair float and participating in all the fun activities.
Lucky Leaf – Ashley Romanowski, Reporter
Hello everyone! The Lucky Leaf club did project book demonstrations. Meredith did a demonstration on her bow and arrow, great job. The snacks were provided by Murphy. Remember, project books are due August 20 if you entered into the Wicomico Fair; due the week before if you are NOT entering anything in the fair. Congratulations to all who participated in the DE State Fair and Somerset County Fair. The next meeting is Thursday, September 5th. Have a great week!
