Agent Letter: June/July 2019

Hello 4-H Families,

This newsletter covers June and July, two more busy months in the 4-H World!  The Delaware State Fair will be held July 18-27.  Volunteers (youth and adults) are needed to help with fair set up and take down and also Host and Hostess duties in the 4-H department at the Centre.  Look for more details in this newsletter and turn your helper forms into Tammy Schirmer by Friday, June 7.  Let’s make this another Fair to remember!

May’s events included Livestock Tagging and the 3rd Annual Sussex Links Spring Fair (which included judging contests, clothing showcase, archery contest and a variety of project displays).  All activities were a success due to those who helped plan, implement, and take part in this event.  Thank you for your hard work and dedication!

Congratulations to our eighteen 4-H high school graduates:  Zachary Adams, Joshua Board, Anthony Brittingham, Meredith Carey, Laine Dickerson, Rebecca Lenhart, Hannah Martz, Jacob Maske, Jared Maske, Brandon Mitchell, Madison Rice, Regan Sammons, Garrett Smith, Matison Smith, Alyssa Thawley, Daniel Tull, Alanna Vanderwende and Taylor Wroten.  I have watched many of you grow up from Cloverbuds to teens and am very proud of the kind, responsible, talented, outgoing young men and women you have become.  Use the skills you have gained from your 4-H leaders and friends to help you in this next exciting chapter in your life!

June and July are sure to bring warmer weather, longer daylight hours, fun family and outdoor activities, and lots of 4-H fun!  State Camp, Experience Extension Day Camp, Exchange group traveling to Montana, Environmental Camp, State Fair, and Georgetown Day Camp are popular summer 4-H activities. During this busy time and throughout the year, please remember to check your email and the blog regularly for news and updates.  Thanks for your help!  See you at the next 4-H event!

Yours in 4-H,
Jill Jackson
