State Teen Conference, “4-H is Out of this World!” was held at the University of Delaware in Newark, DE on February 9 & 10. 52 teens from across Delaware participated in this leadership building weekend. The event began with teens performing ice breakers to get to know each other, followed by making No-sew fleece blankets. These blankets were donated to the patients at Nemours/A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children. Throughout the weekend, 4-H members participated in a variety of workshops. These workshops focused on Healthy Relationships, Stress Management and Financial Literacy, all led by State Teen Council Officers. Teens enjoyed a UD basketball game on Saturday night, followed by a 4-H dance. On Sunday, participants were shuttled to Sky Zone Trampoline Park where they were able to free jump, climb the rock walls and play dodgeball. They returned to Townsend Hall where Katie Daly and Kaitlin Klair presented a workshop on College Readiness.
Thank you to the State Teen Council Officers, Garrett Geidel, Leslie Webb, Jenna Anger, Maci Carter, Matison Smith, Rachel Taylor and Hunter Willoughby for their hard work in making State Teen Conference a success. An additional thank you to our chaperones who helped make the weekend run smoothly: Jill Jackson, Kaleb Scott, Doug Crouse, Karen Crouse, Kaitlin Klair and Ernie Lopez.
