Will March come in like a lion?! I know many will agree with me that they are ready for spring and warmer temperatures. Daylight savings time begins on Sunday, March 12. Don’t forget to turn your clocks ahead one hour!
THANK YOU is not enough to say for all the support that was felt at our 2nd Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Auction! From the donors and guests to the volunteers who helped make this event a success! We appreciate each one of you! Photos from the event can be found on the Delaware 4-H Flickr Page.
The 4-H world is gearing up with many activities and events. In February, many 4-Hers and their families participated in the Favorite Foods Contest along with Foods & Nutrition Judging, Crafts, a Grocery Shopping Challenge and much more! 4-H members will be busy on Saturday, March 11, at the Horse Bowl. Sunday, March 12, is the first Archery Shoot for the spring. Be sure to sign up to participate in this event. The Photography and Wood Science Judging Contests have been scheduled for Wednesday, March 15 and the Demonstration Contest will be held on March 15 and 16. Make up dates for judging contests are also available if you cannot attend on March 15. Other upcoming events include: Sewing Workshops and Jr. Leader Weekend.
Clyde Mellin, County Wood Science Leader and five 4-H members constructed and installed ten bluebird nesting houses for the McCabe Wildlife Preserve in Milton. What a great way to learn about this species and also to give back to our environment. A big Tweet Tweet to Rebecca Arpie, Daniel Tull, Ainsley West, Declan West and Jackie Arpie for your hard work! See photos of the construction and installation on our Flickr page!
Congratulations to our Sussex Salute to Excellence Winners. Marian Carey, Bridgeville Mustangs 4-H Club Leader, received the Outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award. Tammy LeCates, Bridgeville Mustangs 4-H Leader, received the Volunteer of the Year Award. Hats off to these wonderful adult leaders!
A Friendly Reminder – Please be sure to submit your club news to Tammy or myself by the 25th of each month. Include a fun activity, projects completed, and photos of your club in actions. We love to see and share what each club is doing!
Looking forward to seeing you at the next 4-H event!
Yours in 4-H,
