Sussex 4-H Wood Science leader Clyde Mellin has partnered with the The Nature Conservancy in Delaware to install bluebird nesting boxes at their McCabe Wildlife Refuge location outside of Milton, Delaware. Take a look:
The community service project is in two parts!
- Building the boxes at Mr. Mellin’s woodworking shop in Seaford on Saturday, February 11, 2017 and
- Installing the boxes at the McCabe site on Saturday, February 25, 2017
As with Mr. Mellin’s other wood science workshops, strict safety regulations apply.
- A maximum of eight 4-H members
- Parental supervision is required. Parent must stay with child during the building of the nesting boxes on Feb. 11.
- The install portion on Feb. 25th will be filmed to show Delaware 4-H’ers involved in this wildlife habitat community service project
