On Thursday November 17 the Bridgeville Mustangs 4-H meeting was out of this world. President Jenna Anger called the meeting to order. Carter Bradley led the 4-H pledge and Holly Calloway led the American pledge. CJ Carrol gave the secretary report. The treasurers report was given by Tanner Lecates.

Next we talked about old business and reports were given by members who attended. New business and upcoming events were discussed.  Carter Bradley adjourned the meeting and Anikah Teagle second. We had refreshments provided by Paige Taylor and Walker and Ronin Mozingo.

We then had a guest speaker, Rachel Hovermale who talked to us about rockets and space. We also got to see a demonstration on how rocket fuel is burned.  We had a lot of fun at the meeting and it was out of this world.

Sussex 4-H Dairy Club

There is always plenty to learn about Dairy Science!  In September we learned about nutrition for dairy cows. October was our Embryo Transfer month. At our November meeting we read through dairy judging oral reasons from past Hoard’s Dairyman judging contest, received handouts with positive and negative dairy terms, and reviewed the Unified Dairy Judging Scorecard. Afterwards, we worked together to make plans (and posters)  for our club skit for the talent show. We also discussed what it is to toast someone. At our next meeting, we will do a little public speaking practice— all members will come prepared to toast someone special during a milk toast. Members will all get a chance to sample different types of milk, too. If you’d like to join us—send an email to sc4hdairyclub@gmail.com and come prepared with a toast on December 21, 6:30 pm @ the Carvel building!
