Dear 4-H Family,

Happy May!  4-Hers were very busy during the month of April.  Eleven of our members took part in the second annual Statewide Clothing Showcase.  Thank you to those who planned and helped with the event!  Colleen Anderson & Nathaniel Vincent attended National 4-H Conference, met many new people, and had great learning experiences.  Most recently younger members, teens, adult volunteers had a “whirlwind” weekend at Cape Henlopen State Park for our annual Younger Member Weekend.  Look for more information on those events in this newsletter.

Thank you to the clubs who submitted a club report this month, please keep them coming!  Be sure to submit your club news to Tammy or myself by the 25th of each month.  Include a fun activity, projects completed, and photos of your club in actions.  We love to see and share what each club is doing!

During May, many holidays will be celebrated:  May Day, Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, and Memorial Day.  Many 4-H events and activities are also planned:  Livestock Tagging, PQA Testing, Demonstration Contests, Farm Tours, Archery Shoots, Wood Science Workshops and Sussex 4-H Horse Show.

Hopefully the sunshine and warmer temperatures will decide to stick around soon!  I encourage everyone to go outside and enjoy healthy activities such as biking, walking, hiking, or just having a picnic in your backyard or a local park.  Take time out of your busy schedules to spend with the ones you love most!

Yours in 4-H,
Jill Jackson
