Dear Sussex County 4-H Leader,
Welcome to March as spring is just around the corner…………WE HOPE!
I wanted to share with all of you the pride each of us on the 4-H staff felt at our annual leader forum which was held on February 7th at the University of Delaware in Newark. Close to 100
4-H leaders and staff from around the state came out for a day of training, recognition and fellowship.
In Sussex County, we have much to be thankful for and it’s because of the selfless service so many of you provide working with our 4-H youth, day in and day out. This year’s Sussex County Salute to Excellence award winners proved to be shining examples of volunteer service for our 4-H program.
Gina Anger of the Bridgeville Mustangs was honored with the Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award from Sussex County. This award is given to a 4-H Leader with less than ten years of volunteer service. Gina has been a constant presence at Sussex County club and county wide programs enriching the lives of children and working hard on their behalf to enhance their 4-H experience.
The Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer Award from Sussex County was presented to Jacalyn Bradley, longtime member and leader of the Seaford Blue Jays. From hosting and volunteering at club events to her selfless dedication in helping to plan and organize state wide and regional 4-H events, Jacalyn has done tremendous work on behalf of 4-H members for decades.
Please take a moment to congratulate Gina and Jacalyn the next time you see them at a leader meeting or at a 4-H event. We are blessed to have such wonderful volunteers in the Delaware 4-H program and all of us who have the honor to serve with you appreciate the dedication and commitment each of you brings to this organization!
Yours in 4-H,
