The Favorite Foods Contest is open to all 4-H members currently taking a Foods, Food Preservation, or Exploring 4-H project. Participants select a category to enter:
- Breads, Meat or Main Dish, Fruits or Vegetables, Dessert (Beginner, Junior, Senior)
- Appetizers, Hors d’oeuvres, or Soups (Beginner, Junior, Senior)
- Special Diet (Juniors and Seniors Only)
- Cookies, Cupcakes, or Candy (Beginners Only)
Contestants will also plan a menu to complement their selected dish.
Entry Forms for this contest are due to the 4-H Office by Monday, February 2. This form is a PDF that you can fill out.

Instructions:
1. Open the form and fill out the fields
2. Save As with a new name. We suggest “lastname-memberlevel -ff-2015” so it will look like: jones-cloverbud-ff-2015.pdf
3. Save the new named document to your desktop.
4. Email the re-named form to tammys@udel.edu

Hard copies can be obtained from club leaders or the 4-H office.
On Saturday, February 28, participants will bring their prepared food item, place setting, centerpiece, etc. to the contest. Chairpersons will schedule a time for each 4-H participant to meet with a contest judge. Judges will ask questions about the recipe, menu, and prepared dish and then sample a taste of the foods entry.
After meeting with a judge, participants my test their knowledge in the Foods and Nutrition Judging Contest, make a craft, or visit the Kids Korner. There will also be opportunities for members to practice for upcoming 4-H judging contests.
New this year: 4-H’ers may also chose to enter the Photography and Graphic Arts Contest (Entries also due February 2) and have their entries displayed at this event.
This is always a fun-filled and educational event!
