Diamond Clover Award Intent Forms DUE November 26
Delaware 4-H members are eligible to participate in the Diamond Clover Award program. Delaware 4-Hadopted the Diamond Clover Award in 2011 from a program used in Maryland and Nebraska. This award will be the highest level of recognition that a Delaware 4-H member can achieve. It is similar to the Boy Scout Eagle Award or the Girl Scout Gold Award. The Diamond Clover Award consists of six levels, each steadily advancing in intensity and achievement over the last. It is intended to take a 4-H member six years to complete. The nice thing about this award is that many 4-H members are already doing the work, so all you need to do is fill out the forms and submit them. For other 4-H members, this award can provide you with a long-term challenge for your 4-H career. Either way, when you have finished the process you have completed an amazing journey that will benefit you forever. And a Diamond Clover Award will look pretty good on your college application too!

To find out more, visit the Diamond Clover site on the State 4-H webpage at:

Delaware 4-H on Facebook
County 4-H Facebook pages are to merge into a singular Delaware 4-H presence – the current Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Delaware4H

This change is to solidify and strengthen our overall social media presence, avoid duplication and streamline the logistics of posting on Facebook. This move will also significantly improve our reach and engagement on social media.

We are suggesting the following timeline and transition protocol:
October 1. We will notify each county page that all future posts about county and state 4-H events will be found on https://www.facebook.com/Delaware4H
November 30. The county pages will be deactivated ( this maintains the archive, but the page disappears from the public eye.) Page will remain on your page list, but will be deactivated.
In between these dates, we will make periodic reminders of the transition.

Delmarvalous Quilters wants to partner with Sussex County 4-H!
Did you know that a group of ladies called the Delmarvalous Quilters meet each month at the REC?  They work on a variety of projects and have a strong interest in working with our Sussex County 4-H youth.  Some examples of projects they would like to work on with our youth are:

Charity Quilts and Quilts of Valor.  All fabric for these projects is donated.  This group is looking forward to mentoring 4-H youth and possibly collaborating with our Sewing Workshops in the future.  If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Jill Jackson at 856-7303 or jackson@udel.edu
