Note from the Agent – February 2014

Mary ArgoDear 4-H Family,

It is with a heavy heart that I write this monthly note. As many of you know, Mary Argo, retired Sussex County 4-H Agent, passed away on Monday, January 27 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Argo played an integral part in planning and implementing many successful activities and events in our county and state. She lived and breathed 4-H and guided many of us on our 4-H journey!

This past week, it has been amazing hearing stories and seeing all the posts online about Mrs. Argo and how she has been a special part of so many lives. From 4-H Leaders and collegues who have worked with her for many years to past and current 4-H members and their parents. Each has a different story to tell –sentimental, funny, and inspiring. It’s hard for many of us to put in a short amount of words how important this special woman was to us!

Always encouraging, positive, and kind, Mary impacted so many lives and leaves a great legacy to Delaware 4-H. We all are better people for having her in our lives! Please continue to keep the Argo family in your thoughts and prayers.

Yours in 4-H,
Jill Jackson
