This trail follows a section of the former Penn Central railroad between Lewes and Rehoboth Beach for approximately five miles, along an easy contour on a crushed stone surface. The trail is suitable for hikers, bikers, and strollers. It is accessible from the designated trailheads. Trail users will pass through mature hardwood and conifer forests and open fields, and will experience scenic vistas of coastal marshes at the Wolfe Glade and Holland Glade crossings. Interpretive signs provide opportunities to learn about plant and animal life along the trail.

Wednesday, May 14th. The 4-H Pedal Pushers Bike Club will be participating in the annual Ride of Silence sponsored locally by the Sussex Cyclists Bike Club.
A little about the memorial ride: Across the nation, more than 600 cyclists are killed on the road every year. A small number compared to the estimated 300,000 premature deaths estimated to result from overweight and obesity-related illnesses. Bicycling is part of the solution to many of our nation’s problems such as obesity, traffic congestion, air pollution and the seemingly unending need to pave over land for parking lots and widen roads. As a silent but active gesture during National Bike Safety Month to memorialize those killed or injured while cycling on the road, Sussex Cyclists will organize its seventh annual Ride of Silence on Wednesday, May 14 beginning at 7:00 p.m. The ride will start behind the Wawa off Dartmouth Road at the entrance to Rolling Meadows on the southbound side of Route One. More information will follow as we get closer to the date.
