CALLING ALL DELAWARE 4-HERS!!!
Did you know that having adequate access to books in the home is one of the most important things to guarantee a child’s future success in school and life, and that many local low-income families have few or even no books for their kids?
Children need to be able to read to succeed!
4-H youth are part of a movement of positive change going on around the world. Let’s make a real impact in our community!
Here’s how to help:
- Clean out your bookshelf! Search your closets! Look under your bed! Ask your friends!
- Do a book drive (at your church, parent’s work place, school, etc.)
- Books are needed for age’s birth through 4th grade!
- Make sure the books are clean and in good condition and contain no personal information such as name, phone number, address, etc.
- Count and write down the number of books you are donating
- Give that number and the books to your leader at your meetings
- Books will then be taken to a local Read Aloud Delaware location and distributed to children throughout the state
This will be an on-going effort by Delaware 4-Her’s. Do your best, bring those books to your meetings, and help kids get books! This effort is a part of Sarah B.’s 4-H Diamond Clover Award Project. Sarah is a member of Stateline 4-H Club, Seaford.
