2013 National 4-H Congress

WebheaderNational 4-H Congress is one of the premiere experiences for 4-H members across the country to participate in.  For over 90 years, members of the 4-H program have been gathering to celebrate the successes and accomplishments of 4-H.  National 4-H Congress provides a life changing experience for youth to meet other members across the United States, as they participate in educational workshops focusing on diversity, cultural experiences, leadership, team development, and of course having fun!

Congratulations to Holly Anderson, Shannon Bradley, Andy Duvall, Jonah Vincent, and Dustin Waller for being selected to represent Sussex County in the Delaware 4-H Congress delegation.  Here is a little more about their project work areas!

Holly A. Congress 2013Holly Anderson, an 11 year member of the Hollymount 4-H Club, member of Junior Council and Livestock Club, is a Junior Leader and Counselor. She is a sophomore at Sussex Tech. Holly’s main 4-H projects are Dairy, Foods & Nutrition, Leadership, and Citizenship. Other projects include: Clothing & Textiles, Ag Science, Swine, and Poultry. Holly resides with her parents Paul and Sharon Anderson in Milton.

Shannon B. Congress 2013Shannon Bradley, an 8 year member of the Seaford Blue Jays 4-H Club, Assistant Treasurer of Junior Council, is a Junior Leader and Counselor. She is a sophomore at Sussex Tech. Main 4-H projects are Foods & Nutrition, Food Preservation, Clothing & Textiles, and Photography. Other projects include: Arts & Crafts and Performing Arts. Shannon’s parents are Jacalyn Bradley, Seaford, and Steven Bradley, Laurel.

Andy D. Congress 2013Andrew Duvall, a 6 year member of the Country Clovers 4-H Club, member of Junior Council, is a Junior Leader and Counselor. He placed seventh in the small engine event at the 2012 National 4-H Engineering Challenge in Indiana. Andy is a junior at Sussex Tech. His main 4-H projects are Wildlife, Small Engines, Leadership, and Citizenship. Other projects include: Fishing, Archery, Horticulture, Tractors, and Woodworking. Andy resides with his parents Charles and Tammy Duvall in Millsboro.

Jonah V. Congress 2013Jonah Vincent, an 8 year member of the Rossakatum 4-H Club, Vice President of Junior Council, is a Junior Leader and Counselor. He is a senior at Delmar High. Jonah’s main 4-H projects are Plant Science, Foods & Nutrition, Citizenship, and Leadership. Other projects include: Swine, Beef, Shooting Sports, Health, and Self-Determined (golf). Jonah’s parents are Raymond and Teresa Vincent, Laurel, and Charity Phillips, Delmar.

Dustin W. Congress 2013Dustin Waller, an 11 year member of the Clover Knights 4-H Club, member of Junior Council, Bunny Busters, Friendz, Finz, Furz, and Featherz, Retro Robotics, a Junior Leader, and Counselor. He placed fourth in the compact tractor event at the 2013 National 4-H Engineering Challenge in Indiana. Dustin is a junior at Sussex Tech.  His main 4-H projects are Woodworking, Archery, Citizenship, and Leadership. Other projects include: Photography, Goats, Rabbits, Fishing, Robotics, and Electrical. Dustin’s parents are Norris & Sylvia Waller, Georgetown, and Donna Waller, Bridgeville.
