The Delaware State Fair is just around the corner and excitement is building as 4-H members get ready to exhibit and showcase their 4-H project work. The 4-H Department Handbook is now available on the Delaware State Fair website and you can begin to enter entries online with the Delaware State on April 1, 2013 and must complete all exhibit entries by the June 1, 2013 deadline. NOTE: All exhibitors must enter online this year as NEW exhibitors; past exhibitor file data has been deleted.
Several new classes have been added as well as revisions and changes in rules to some contests. A full explanation of these items can be obtained from your 4-H leader or from the County 4-H Office. A summary of these items include:
New exhibit classes that include counted cross stitch, huck weaving, chicken scratch embroidery, plastic canvas, and a new photography exhibit on Delaware Agriculture / Delaware Farms.
- Section D-Classes 67 to 70-Members must submit some type of file for exhibit as per instructions.
- Section D-Class 69 and Section H-Class 152 to 154 must be submitted to UD Drop Box as per instructions.
- Section G-Floriculture -No fresh wreaths or flowers are permitted.
- All State Fashion Revue Garments will be due to the respective County 4-H Office in advance of State Fair.
- Talent Show entries will be handled through State 4-H Newsletter and will not be entered online with State Fair.
- Event Starting Time Changes: Poultry Judging will be 9:00 a,m. and Consumer Bowl will be 1 p.m.
- Minimum time for State Contest Demonstrations is now 3 minutes.
