Most of us now capture images using our cell phones. If you asked me 15 years ago if I would ever be teaching a course on photography using cell phones, I would have said you’re crazy. However, cell phone technology has reached a point where the creativity has been put back in the hands of the photographer and is no longer a simple point-and-shoot process. Photography from its conception has always been in flux with the technology changing from daguerreotypes to negatives and polaroids to instant digital images. There are countless photography apps, sharing sites and cell phones to chose from.
In this course students will learn the fundamentals of composition, lighting, line, black and white, color and more. We’ll also look at the camera phone as a photographic tool, understand how to critique images and develop your own photographic voice to give your images purpose.
