Affinity-Based Leadership Councils
Are you involved in one of our affinity-based registered student organizations (RSOs) and looking to make an even larger impact? Your RSO can join one of our leadership councils! Leadership councils include the following affinity groups; African-American & Black, Asian, Pacific Islander and Desi American (APIDA), Latinx/Hispanic (Latinx), and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Queer (LGTBQ+). These groups advocate for the needs and interests of these communities while building community and collaboration.
Center for Intercultural Engagement
As a presidential priority, the University of Delaware will begin renovations to build a Center for Intercultural Engagement. The Center for Intercultural Engagement project will identify physical space where students can interact, explore and grow together around social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.
From welcome receptions and graduation celebrations to various featured speakers and services geared toward specific populations, our units offer many opportunities to engage the diverse populations on campus.
Social Justice Peer Educators
Student Diversity & Inclusion is excited to announce a new social justice leadership opportunity on campus, the Social Justice Peer Educators! The Social Justice Peer Educators (SJPEs) program is a peer-to-peer social justice program and is a paid leadership opportunity for students. The opportunity includes the training of student leaders who are passionate about social justice to facilitate peer-led workshops on identity, social justice, and creating inclusive and just environments on campus. Applications are accepted during the spring semester for the upcoming academic year.
Student Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Board
This student-led board provides recommendations and feedback to the Division of Student Life on ways to create a more inclusive campus and culture.
