Privacy and Confidentiality

Student privacy is protected in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Non-enrolled students are protected by Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), in accordance with our privacy statement. Students may complete a release of information form if they choose to share their medical information with parents/guardians regarding a specific visit.

As a patient you have choices, rights and responsibilities. We are concerned with providing you the very best in health care and ask that you participate in your own health care by being an active and informed consumer.

Accept responsibility for any charges not covered by your SHS
fee (or your insurance)
Respect Other Students and Student Health Personnel

There are limited confidentiality exceptions required by law, such as reporting certain communicable diseases, or situations which threaten your own safety or safety of others, and age of consent
