UNIV 104: Sophomore Seminar is a course that is strongly recommended for ALL Associate in Arts students transitioning to main campus. In this course, we cover various areas related to the transition to main campus as well as your role as upperclassmen. Not only do we cover financial aid and housing, but we also cover major and career planning. Scheduled visitors include: Office of Residence Life and Housing, Career Services Center, Counseling Center, and Graduate Studies. The course will culminate with an upperclassmen and alumni panel.
Student assignments are designed to be value-added experiences. Assignments are primarily blog reflections posts and in-class multimedia exercises. The final project of the semester is a resume and cover letter, which will prove invaluable as students seek internships and other experiential experiences as upperclassmen.
