Jennifer Semrau, PhD
Principal Investigator

Dr. Semrau joined the Department of Kinesiology and Applied Physiology at UD in 2018. She received her PhD in Neuroscience from Washington University in St. Louis in 2011, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuroscience at the University of Calgary in 2018. Her research focuses on using robotics and technology to improve assessments and rehabilitation for those living with stroke. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outside with her dog (walking/hiking), building stuff, arts and crafts, and baking unhealthy things.

Duncan Tulimieri, BS
BIOMS PhD Student

Duncan is a graduate student in the Biomechanics and Movement Science program and a recent graduate from Denison University. When not working in the lab he enjoys fishing and exploring the outdoors.

Joanna Eskander, MS, OTR/L
BIOMS PhD Student

Joanna is an occupational therapist who graduated from Duquesne University, and has experience in acute care and inpatient rehab settings. She enjoys playing games and reading.

Devin Austin, BS
BIOMS PhD Student

Devin is a recent graduate from Michigan State University. He enjoys birding, weight lifting, cooking, and home improvement projects.

Amelia Decarie, MS
BIOMS PhD Student

Amelia is a new graduate student in the Biomechanics and Movement Science (BIOMS) program at the University of Delaware. She completed a Master’s of Science in Human Kinetics and a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa in Canada. Her research interests lie in proprioception and the potential use of proprioceptive training as rehabilitation method for post-stroke patients. When she is not doing research, she loves to do triathlons (swimming, biking, and running). She recently completed her first full Ironman in Canada followed by the Ironman World Championships in Kona, and she is excited to attempt more Ironmans in the future.

Kenna Gilley, BS
Research Assistant

Kenna is a recent graduate from the University of Delaware. In her free time she enjoys bike riding and hiking with her dog.

Makenna is an Exercise Science major and Community Engagement Scholar. When not working in the lab, she plays on the UD Women’s Club Rugby Team.

Lauren Baran
Undergraduate Researcher

Lauren Baran is a senior undergraduate student at the University of Delaware, majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Exercise Science and Medical Diagnostics. She likes outdoor activities and reading in her free time.

Matthew Bloom
Undergraduate Researcher

Matthew is a senior Exercise Science major with a minor in History. In his free time, he likes to play sports and spend time with friends.

Chief Morale Officer

Dash is the Chief Morale Officer of the lab.  He enjoys daily walks, running and playing with his sticks, napping, and eating.
