  1. I am a senior that will be graduating this upcoming May. I have to say that I am honestly disappointed with the music choice for our concerts. I and many others feel that the quality has been declining with Fun, Ed Sheeran, and now Aaron Carter. I feel that we are being treated like 12 year old girls. It is hard to swallow that I am not motivated to the a concert on my last semester as a student, and it is because of the music choice. Other schools around us such as Penn State, and UMass, and just about everyone have been bringing in entertainment such as Hardwell, and Tiesto, and even big name rappers, and bands. I am asking please can we get some decent entertainment at this school.

    • Dear Jeffrey,
Thank you for addressing your concerns with us! We appreciate your feedback and we are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with our music selections. However, we are happy to let you know that Aaron Carter is only a minor concert for this semester and there will be other concerts hosted by SCPAB and other organizations on campus such as the Cultural Programming Advisory Board (CPAB), The Misfits, and WVUD Radio later on in the semester. Since you are a senior, we hope that you will be attending Senior Fling, a free concert on the North Green, on May 13th. We are still in the negotiation stage of the band for Senior Fling and that we try to diversify our artists each time we make an offer to campus. A lot of factors go into what artists we pursue. In addition, CPAB puts on the spring rap concert each year so you can follow them on Twitter at @CPAB_UD to see who they bring for the major rap concert! Coming up soon, UDance is bringing techno artist, KapSlap for a small concert on February 26th! If you have any artist or music genre suggestions we would be happy to receive them. Please email suggestions@scpab.com or comment on our website. We will take into consideration all of your suggestions and we hope you will be happy with our artist selection for Senior Fling!

  2. I just saw your facebook post asking students whether or not we prefer a rap or country artist for senior fling, and I cannot believe that a country artist is even being considered. After being bored to tears sitting through Ed Sheeran and watching people just stand there I do not understand why SCPAB cannot get someone that is more fun. Towson just booked Steve Aoki for their Tiger Fest so he is clearly making appearances at colleges again this year, which we missed out on the last three years in a row. After Fun, Ed Sheeran, and Aaron Carter its time to switch it up already and have an event that appeals to the people that actually want to dance and have fun at a concert.

    • Hi,

Thank you for sharing your concerns with SCPAB. We appreciate your feedback! We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience at Ed Sheeran and are disappointed with our past music selections. SCPAB tries its hardest to bring a range of artists and other events to appeal to a diverse student body that is unique to our own school. While we understand that not everyone is a country fan, at this time, country is a very popular genre with a lot of students on campus. Additionally, SCPAB has not hosted a country artist possibly ever, so we are open to this possibility. As you can understand, a lot of factors go into what artists SCPAB pursues.

In addition to SCPAB events, the Cultural Programming Advisory Board (CPAB) puts on the spring rap concert at the Bib Bob each year so you can follow them on Twitter at @CPAB_UD to see who they bring for the major rap concert! There will also be other concerts hosted by other organizations on campus such as The Misfits and WVUD Radio later on in the semester. Also, please feel free to send your suggestions to suggestions@scpab.com. We take them all into serious consideration!

      Thank you for your feedback,

  3. Just get a big name EDM artist. Try it out, this campus hasn’t seen one since The White Panda opened for Flo-rida, and White Panda has become huge since then. There are plenty of companies that will even help you put on a show if the budget is too low such as Art of Electronica, and Steez Promo. If I had access to the Bob I could put the concert on myself. Steez Promo helped bring Laidback Luke to Pulse. They can, and will help you guys. Yeah they may want some of the profit, but this is for the students not the money. As long as your not losing money it should be fine.

  4. I would like to say that I was very pleased with the choice of concert for Senior Fling, although I was unable to attend. I would like to see more Country concerts on campus because not everyone likes rap like most concerts have been. I think SCPAB should branch out and reach everyone’s music likes, such as country. Just my opinion 🙂

    • Hi Ashley,

We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our choice! We appreciate your feedback and definitely take the students’ voices into consideration when we make our selections. We hope to see you at our events this semester!

  5. My sister was looking forward to Sam hunt’s concert. It was her birthday on Sept 13th and when she arrived at the door to be admitted she and her 3 friends were declined. They were told that only 300 people could be admitted. She was very disappointed and there was no mention in the promotion from SCPAB that only 300 people could enter. What a shame and if the student fees are used towards these “free concerts” then why are they opened to the public when you are only allowing 300 people to enter?

    • Hi Cameron,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with SCPAB. We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with our event. This concert was intended to be outdoors, which is why it was open to the public. Unfortunately, due to inclement weather, we were forced to move this event indoors to the only available location, where we were restricted by capacity limits that were being strictly enforced. We did post about the 300 person limit on Facebook and Twitter, and that fact was publicized via 103.7 WXCY FM, the radio station that cosponsored this event. We did not want to turn people away, however the number of people allowed to enter the venue was out of our control.

Again , we apologize for your unsatisfactory experience.

      Best,
Rachel, VP of Public Relations, SCPAB

    • Hi Adam,

Tickets are not yet sold out, but the link we’d been providing for the concert is no longer functional because it was only for the first 2 weeks of sales exclusively to students. After that, the student price went away and tickets went on sale to the public. You can still find tickets on Ticketmaster now just by searching for Walk The Moon!
