Mariano Burich, Wilder Acuna, Juan Ruiz

President: Wilder Acuna

Wilder is a Ph.D. student in Dr. Joshua Zide’s research group in material science and engineering. His work is focused on the growth of semiconductor materials by molecular beam epitaxy to be implemented in optoelectronic devices for THz applications. He got his chemical engineer diploma back in Colombia. Besides SACNAS, Wilder is also part of  MRS (Material research society) at UD and ASM Brandywine Valley Chapter.

Vicepresident: Juan Ruiz

Treasurer: Mariano Burich

Mariano is a Ph.D. student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Delaware. During his M.Sc. in Curitiba, Brazil (his hometown), he discovered how interesting telecommunications could be, motivating him to further pursue a Ph.D. Currently, he works on error-correcting codes, coded modulation, and analog coding; areas that aim to increase the efficiency of communication systems by decreasing error rates, increasing throughput, or by saving energy.
