Course Objective: To understand what the financial planning process is, as defined by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (www.cfp.net), and how to utilize it to be an effective financial planner. We will explore basic tools and techniques used in support of the financial planning process as well as the ethical, regulatory, and economic environment in which financial planners operate. Focus will also be on the 5 core planning topics: Investing, Taxes, Insurance, Retirement, and Estate Planning.

Expectations: You should expect this course to help you improve your ability to communicate and present financial topics to individuals and groups. One of the most important qualities of successful financial planners is their ability to communicate effectively. You can also expect the course to help you prepare for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER Examination.
