On Wednesday, January 16th, XSEDE paired up with the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center for a one day OpenMP workshop with 18 satellite sites participating. This workshop gave C and Fortran programmers a hands-on introduction to OpenMP programming. Attendees left with a working knowledge of how to write scalable codes using OpenMP. UD’s satellite site had 12 attendees and we encourage others in UD’s HPC community to take advantage of these training opportunities offered throughout the year.
Our next workshop is the XSEDE HPC Workshop: Big Data. This workshop will introduce scalable data analytics and machine learning. It is a two-day, hands-on workshop using Hadoop, Spark and TensorFlow on February 12th and 13th @ 11AM – 5PM each day. There are no prerequisites, although some familiarity with Python would be helpful.
This event will be presented using the Wide Area Classroom (WAC) training platform.
