Welcome

This website hosts materials for participants in the Dialectical Behavior Skills Group offered through Delaware Reentry Court. The DBT Group is supervised by Dr. Naomi Sadeh who is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Professor in the Psychological and Brain Sciences Department at the University of Delaware.

WHAT IS DBT SKILLS THERAPY?

Therapy helps people work on problems with a therapist and other people facing similar challenges. The goal of this group is to help people adjust to living in the community following incarceration by learning new skills. The skills learned are designed to teach group members how to deal with strong emotions and stress, change unhelpful behaviors, and think differently about criminal behavior. The therapists act as teachers and coaches, and the group members support each other as they work on learning new skills. Research shows that people who are active group members and practice the skills between meetings benefit the most from therapy.
