Delaware Stroke Studies

Research Goal: To better understand how the brain controls movement and how motor skills are learned in health and disease.

Ongoing projects:
  • Supraspinal control of human locomotion and interlimb symmetry between legs.
  • Motor learning, especially mechanisms of adaptation, use-dependent plasticity and retention of learned movements.
  • Understanding how motor control and motor learning are impaired following stroke.
  • Non-invasive brain stimulation, including TMS and tDCS, to measure and modulate brain excitability in the healthy and stroke-affected brain.
