About Us

Philanthropy

Alpha Eta has long participated in many service and philanthropic events in and around campus. However, we do host a major philanthropic event every semester, which are open to the University and community. In the Fall semester we host Hope Bowl and in the Spring semester we host Kick the Silence.
The National Philanthropy of Phi Sigma Pi is currently up for debate and will be decided this summer!
The local philanthropy of the Alpha Eta Chapter is the B+ Foundation. The B+ Foundation works to provide financial and emotional support to families of children with cancer and fund childhood cancer research. You can learn more by visiting their website at http://www.bepositive.org/ or check out our UDance page

Our Ideals: The Tripod

Scholarship

“The acquisition and dissemination of information and knowledge through scholarship.”

Scholarship to us is more than just having a high regard for academics. It’s about having a lifelong passion for learning. Brothers participate and host events that encourage us to learn more about the world around us and the people in it. We have discussion based events called “Coffee Talks” where we have intellectual discussions about modern controversial issues, we take trips to local museums and we host “ How-To” workshop-style events. All of our scholarship events give Brothers a chance to think outside the box and learn something new!

Leadership

“The application of professional skills and the fostering of leadership qualities by promoting and advancing the welfare of humanity.”

Brothers practice leadership through service. We work to positively impact the community through a variety of events each semester. Events vary by semester but some examples include Adopt-a-Highway, Habitat for Humanity, Boys & Girls Club, Tree Planting, Park Clean-Up, Jewish Relief Agency, Special Olympics Delaware, Blood Drive, Food Bank, and Newark Manor Nursing Home.

Fellowship

”The fostering of non-discriminatory, fraternal fellowship within our ranks.”

Members of Phi Sigma Pi aren’t just peers, we’ re Brothers! Fellowship is the bond that holds us together and is intertwined in all that we do. We have social events such as retreats, formals, trips and mixers but you’ll also find Brothers grabbing lunch together on Main St., hanging out together on the weekends, or studying together in the library.
