Dr. Annastasia B. Purinton is an associate policy scientist for the Partnership for Public Education. Annastasia earned her Ed.D. from the University of Delaware in 2021, where she studied literacy for multilingual learners (MLs) and Education Leadership. Annastasia began working for the Partnership in 2020 and has supported numerous partnership-building projects designed to mobilize UD knowledge and expertise to meet the needs of the greater Delaware education community.  
Annastasia has also previously taught Literacy for English Language Learners, a course for undergraduate and graduate students, and worked as a graduate research assistant for an IES-funded reading intervention study. Annastasia studied English literature and education as an undergraduate student and earned Master’s degrees in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) and Education from the University of Delaware. In addition, Annastasia has previous experience teaching ESL, instructional coaching, and providing professional development for local districts, Migrant Education, and 21st Century programs in her community.
