Employee Medical Monitoring & Health Promotion
The NMPCC provides state-of-the-art occupational healthcare services to UD employees, including the following:
- Comprehensive physical exams
- Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) exams
- Federal OSHA respiratory evaluation and examination
- Immunizations (e.g. Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, PPD testing)
- Acute injury care and treatment (back strain, ankle sprains, etc.)
- Tests including EKG, cardiac stress testing, lung function testing, hearing testing, vision screening, phlebotomy services, and laboratory analysis
Injury Care for On-the-Job Injuries
UD Employees (including Aramark Dining Services employees) with acute work-related injuries can be treated at the NMPCC. If possible, the employee’s supervisor should call ahead to notify the NMPCC that an injured employee is being sent over and describe the nature of the injury. NMPCC will need to verify treatment authorization for any injured employees who visit the NMPCC office without pre-notification. Depending on the nature and severity of the injury, NMPCC will make every effort to fit the employee into the schedule as soon as possible.
If there is any doubt as to the severity of the injury, call 911 and arrange for the employee to be taken to an emergency care facility. Employees treated at an emergency care facility can schedule follow-up appointments and on-going treatment at the NMPCC.
After a work injury, follow-up care at the NMPCC focuses on providing individualized comprehensive healthcare that enables the employee to return to work in a safe and timely manner. Based on the assessment during each office visit, additional follow-up appointments are scheduled as indicated.
Billing and Insurance
University of Delaware employees participating in Medical Monitoring and Immunization programs paid for by the employee’s department will not be charged for pre-approved Occupational Healthcare Services.
Payment for services not authorized (nor paid for) by the employee’s department is due at time of service. The NMPCC accepts most third-party medical insurance plans – Highmark/DE, Aetna, Cigna, Medicare, Medicaid (DPCI, UHC-Community Plan). NMPCC will only bill the patient’s primary medical insurance. The patient is responsible for any insurance co-pays. NMPCC accepts personal checks, most major credit cards, or cash.

Billing for Treatment of work-related injuries: It is up to the employee and employee’s supervisor to fill out and submit the appropriate first report of injury forms to start the Worker’s Compensation (WC) claims process. Employer’s WC insurance will be billed first; however, should the WC claim be denied, the employee is responsible for payment.
