Tim Tingle
Tim Tingle is an award-winning American author and a member of the Choctaw Tribe of Oklahoma. He received a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Texas and a master’s degree in English from the University of Oklahoma. With influence coming from the stories of his ancestors, he has built his career out of telling stories focusing on Native American peoples. His family has endured many of the hardships that were thrust upon Native Americans. His grandmother endured life at a Native American boarding school in the early 1900s and his great-great-grandfather was forced to walk the Trail of Tears. He has received many accolades for his written works and his storytelling ability, including the American Indian Youth Literature Award, having a book chosen as an Editor’s Choice by the New York Times book review, and an Independent Publisher Book Award.
