It was a cool morning in the garden, but the temperature did not stop master gardeners from coming out. We did a massive trimming and cleanup of the 2 pollinator gardens. The biomass was added to the compost bins. We added more straw to some beds for soil protection.
We harvested white and red radishes and Purple Top turnips. Jerusalem artichokes were unearthed and added to the donated produce. All were taken to Little Sisters of the Poor.
The Calabrese and Belstar broccoli, Catskill and Groninger Brussel sprouts, Champion collard greens, and Kale are still progressing slowly but well.
We continue to host OCI, our enthusiastic gardening volunteers.
See you next week, weather permitting.
