What’s Happening in the VFTG, Week of 10/20/2025

This morning was sunny but cool, and we had a great master gardener turnout.

The VFTG is winding down.  We harvested the remainder of the Centercut squash, the Tall White Stem Pak Choi, and the Shishito peppers. The White Turnips, Purple Top White Globe Turnips, and Early Wonder Beets are still producing.

The Calabrese and Belstar broccoli, Catskill and Groninger Brussel sprouts, Champion collard greens, and Curled Vates Kale are progressing slowly but well. We hope to get a harvest before the temperature drops.

We have cotton:  we got two cotton puffs today.  The cotton plant is still blooming.  Thank you Greta for that experience.

We continue to host OCI, our enthusiastic gardening volunteers.

See you next week, weather permitting.
