What’s Happening in the VFTG, Week of 7/29/2024

Welcome to the Garden!

The garden was watered and trimmed.

The harvest today included: Tomatoes (Juliet and German Johnson), Pole Beans (Monte Gusto, Bush Beans (Goldmine, Blue Lake and Royal Burgundy), Squash (49’er hybrid), Swiss Chard (Bright Lights), Peppers (Shishito, Ancho, and Big Daddy), Basil.

The mystery volunteer squash in the South East Raised Bed is a Scalloped Squash.

The row cover on the Brassicas in the Northeast Raised Bed appears to be letting cabbage butterflies in as we are seeing Cross-striped Cabbage Worms on the Brussels Sprouts and Cauliflower.  We try to eliminate them when spotted.

Thank you all for joining us in the VFTG.
