Susquehanna Restoration Symposium, April 10-11:

Registration for the 7th West Branch Susquehanna Restoration Symposium, hosted by Trout Unlimited and the West Branch Susquehanna Restoration Coalition, is now open! The Symposium will take place at the Toftrees Golf Resort & Conference Center near State College, PA on April 10-11, 2014. Please join us in celebrating the Ten Year Anniversary of the West Branch Susquehanna Restoration Initiative!The first day of the Symposium will kick off with a workshop geared toward watershed groups and others who are working on AMD restoration projects. It will cover topics related to fundraising, grant management, project management and working with a consultant. A panel of representatives from various funding organizations and agencies will be present to provide information about their programs and answer any questions that arise related to funding for watershed projects. That evening there will be a social reception and student poster contest as well.The second day will feature the keynote address by Chris Abruzzo, Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection. Then speakers from state agencies, universities, and non-profits, along with other professionals will offer a variety of presentations about recovery of AMD-impaired streams, future restoration plans, and much more.Also, please remember that we encourage both students and professionals to display posters on AMD-related projects and research. Display space for posters is free, but poster presenters will need to bring their own tripods.
