I believe that my skill sets would include my people skills; I also tend to excel in subjects such as math and history. I also believe that a strong skill of mine would be the fact that I can easily talk to people and relate to them. Considering with my current job working with children I am constantly communicating with people throughout the day and I believe that has greatly improved my communication skills in general. Well I am looking at a career possibly in the medical field after looking at the results of the “Strong Interest Inventory” so that means that I would possibly need to work on my math and more importantly science, more specifically anatomy perhaps. I believe I can strengthen my science skills by taking more science courses when I transition up onto main campus and be able to explore more of the sciences that they offer. My weaknesses would include public speaking, writing, and leadership skills. I think that the weaknesses that I mentioned are ones that in order to improve on I just need to work on them more. I do not have a lot of experience with public speaking and leadership skills so I feel as though if I was given the opportunity to develop those skills they would no longer be as much of a problem as I feel that they are now. I believe that if I do end up pursuing a career in the medical field I would get the opportunity to further develop all of my skills in different ways. Although I feel as though I have good communication skills I feel as though a career in medical will only strengthen those skills. Not only will some skills be strengthened but I will hopefully get the ability to develop new skills in which I have never got to explore.
